In 2011, the CK Hui Heart Centre opened in Edmonton as part of the Royal Alexandra Hospital. With the opening of the CK Hui Heart Centre cardiac resources were consolidated into one location allowing for more effective treatment of cardiac patients. Since its opening CK Hui has led the way in providing innovative treatment for various cardiac diseases and disorders. Our production team had the opportunity to see the skill and innovation of the CK Hui team in action as we created an anniversary video to celebrate 5 Year of the CK Hui Heart Centre.
In addition to their expert patient care, the CK Hui has taken part in several important clinical trials and research focusing on multicultural needs, prevention, stabilization, and rehabilitation.
The CK Hui also provides several outreach programs to those communities with higher risk of Cardiovascular disease due to genetic indicators and cultural barriers.

“Prevention is always better than cure. I think that these outreach programs are almost as important, if not more important than the actual clinical services that we provide at the Heart Centre.” (Dr. Hui).
It is clear to see that the CK Hui Heart Centre is a great team, as Dr. Randall Williams says, “Everybody is a team member and they all know it, and they all realize that we are all working together for the benefit of our patients … and I certainly hope that it will continue to grow and be a leader in Cardiac Sciences and the care of Cardiac patients in Canada.”
