The Future of Video: Augmented Reality Videos with Scope AR

This summer, our Lindisfarne video production team had the opportunity to get a glimpse into the future of video production – augmented reality video – with the talented team at ScopeAR.

Augmented Reality Video

Augmented reality or “AR” provides an interactive experience blending digital elements with a live video/real world environment view, using either a camera or smartphone. This differs from virtual reality, which is a completely immersive experience in which the world you see is one that is completely fabricated and shuts out the real world.

AR isn’t just useful for games and apps like Pokeman or Snapchat: it can also be used for various industrial, medical, and educational applications.

Launched in 2015 an based in Edmonton, Alberta ScopeAR is the a augmented reality knowledge management company that offers live remote solutions for industry support and instruction around field maintenance, manufacturing, and training.

Often, customers’ field workers faced complex tasks alone, equipped only with outdated paper instructions, hazy memories of long-ago training, or no training at all. Scope AR puts augmented reality to work via smart devices like phones, tablets and glasses to “make every worker an instant expert” and avert potential disasters.

We’re so excited to follow these exciting new enhancements and see the innovation that is taking place in Edmonton.
