
The Lindisfarne crew had so much fun once again sponsoring the Artist Award Videos for the Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts 2024 Here’s Nina award gala! We got to spend the day chatting with some fabulous artists and witnessing the creation of some stunning artwork! Getting the opportunit to create artist award videos and help the recipients express their pride and gratitude is such an honour.
This year’s winners included:

Ashley C – Realtors Community Foundation Create Award
Ashley has been coming to the Nina for 10 years. Her love of art comes from her family and friends. She does all kinds of art including drawing, painting, and sewing. The people at the Nina are what makes it a special place for Ashley. She believes she has become a better person since coming to the Nina.

Scott Berry – Capital Care Foundation Legacy Award
Scott has been coming to the Nina for over 20 years. His specialty is clay: swords, shields, helmets and face masks. Scott truly believes that the more you do something, the better you get! He likes that art helps keep him busy and his mind going. In the future, he would like to have his own gallery.

Jared Quinney – CN Artist of the Year Award
This is Jared’s second award from the Nina. He loves doing all kinds of art: fabrics, paint, and ceramics. He loves that everyone is happy to be at the Nina and they make sure you are at ease when you come. Jared believes that anything is possible now, and he can’t wait to see what the future holds.

Abdul Hassan – ATB Emerging Artist Award
Abdul expresses himself in pictures. His favourite type of art is drawing; animals in particular. He feels happy and appreciated by the Nina. Abdul is excited to share his art with everyone.

Brenan Hamel – EXPO Centre Innovate Award
Brenan is a natural artist with a good sense of colour and form. While purple remains his favourite colour, the Nina has helped him branch out with colour. He has grown confidences through his art and he was really proud to receive a well-deserved award.

Alana Gersky – Rotary Club of Edmonton Northeast Connect Award
Alana has been coming to the Nina for over 10 years, and loves “the mosaic of art.” Alana loves to sew and makes a lot of her own clothes, including a dress for this year’s awards show. Coming to the Nina gives Alana independence. She considers the people at the Nina family.
