On Saturday, September 24th, the annual Belcourt Brosseau Métis Awards ceremony was held at the Ramada Inn and Conference Centre in Edmonton. Our Lindisfarne production team was happy to create a special video for the event.
“Since 2002, the awards have provided more than $5.8 million related to over 1,300 awards to more than 900 Métis Albertans studying at institutions across Alberta and beyond, making it the largest non-governmental source of student funding for Métis students in Canada.”
For the awards, our team had the opportunity to create the event video portraying the Métis Jig: a traditional dance whose origins lie in the traditional dances of French, English, Scottish, First Nations, and Arcadian peoples from whom the Métis Nation was born.
Set against the beautiful backdrops of Fort Edmonton Park and the beautiful Edmonton River Valley, it was a privilege for our team to learn about the Métis Jig and create a video honouring this beautiful tradition.
The full video can be seen here.
