Our Lindisfarne team has the pleasure of creating a storytelling video for the City of Edmonton‘s The Mayor Reads project, featuring Mayor Don Iveson as he shares his love of storytelling with young Edmontonians.
This month for The Mayor Reads, Mayor Iveson shared the story In Lucia’s Neighbourhood by Pat Shewchuk. In Lucia’s Neighbourhood is a story about a young girl exploring her vibrant Toronto neighbourhood with her grandmother – a neighbourhood not unlike those the City of Edmonton hopes to foster within our own vibrant city.
This month, make sure to get out and explore our own Edmonton neighbourhoods on May 5th, as the City celebrates Jane’s Walk: in honour of Jane Jacobs, the visionary journalist, author, and activist whose influence on urban studies changed the way we look at modern cities. On the first weekend of May every year, Jane’s Walk festivals take place in hundreds of cities around the world. Jane’s Walks encourage people to share stories about their neighbourhoods, discover unseen aspects of their communities, and use walking as a way to connect with their neighbours.
