Lesser Slave Lake – A Hidden Gem! – Tourism Alberta Stock Footage

This August, Alberta Tourism asked us to leave our (chilly) air-conditioned office and spend a few days exploring Lesser Slave Lake Provincial Park to gather a variety of beauty shots for their Alberta stock footage collection. We had no idea what spectacular scenery awaited us in this hidden gem!

Our eager crew slapped on the sunscreen and we met up with our talented Edmonton photographer friend Curtis Comeau. We spent the first day at popular Marten River Campground to capture camping scenes with our awesome model family. A few hot dogs, burgers and gummy worms later, it was time to toast the marshmallows! (Fun Fact: even without the luxury of an axe, that talented Weyme makes a mean fire.)

Day two of our adventure was spent at the beach! (What a shame!) Devonshire Beach was spectacular. The sun was shining, the sand was warm on our feet and the lake was truly mesmerizing! Measuring over 100 kilometers long, it is the second largest lake in Alberta. It’s almost hard to believe it is named ‘Lesser’ Slave Lake!

If you’re looking for a great place to take a relaxing summer break with the family –  take our word for it; Lesser Slave Lake is a hidden gem just waiting to be discovered!
