Video campaign – ABMunis

Lindisfarne was asked by our neighbours at Alberta Municipalities to create a video campaign to help build understanding for how property taxes are structured, and how that structure affects costs for municipal governments.

Alberta Municipalities acts as a voice of summer villages, villages, towns, cities, and specialized municipalities in which 85% of Albertans live. ABMunis researches and analyses the challenges facing these communities and their governments, and advocates for change.

The videos would align with the rollout of the ABMunis’ initiative, “Property Taxes Reimagined: Fair Funding for Strong Communities.” Alberta’s local governments are increasingly under pressure to reduce their property taxes. There are many things affecting municipal budgets and your council’s ability to pay for the services, equipment, and infrastructure to have a thriving community. We spoke to several people from the Alberta Municipalities team, focusing in the subject of property taxes.

Although the video campaign was unscripted, it was important that all messaging was clear, accessible, matched information in Property Taxes Reimagined, and helped engage viewers to learn more.

In order to stay within schedule and budget, we brought the team over to our offices to film each portion of the video. Talking points were covered by broll from our own video library, as well as from Alberta Muncipalities.
