HQCA – Continuing Care Videos

The Lindisfarne team had the opportunity to create 2 continuing care videos for the Health Quality Council of Alberta (HQCA).

In the summer/fall of 2020, HQCA conducted a study in partnership with Alberta Health and Alberta Health Services: the COVID-19 Continuing Care Study – Family Experience survey. This study was conducted in long-term care (LTC) and designated supportive living (DSL) to better understand resident and family member experiences and perceptions about public health orders and their implementation by sites during the most restrictive time of the COVID-19 pandemic (March to July 2020). The results of this study were presented at the provincial level.

Our production team was asked to create 2 videos highlighting the work of facilities in Calgary and Edmonton that scored higher than their zone and provincial peers in the survey. We spoke with family members and staff about the challenges they experienced during the height of the pandemic; how those challenges were met and overcome, and how each facility protected the mental, emotional, and physical health of their residents, families, and employees. We filmed at the Jubilee Lodge Nursing Home in Edmonton, and traveled to the Bethany Harvest Hills Care site in Calgary.

Continuing Care Videos

Jubilee Lodge Nursing Home is home to 150 senior residents. Their individualized approach enables them to tailor their care and services to residents to ensure their overall health and wellbeing. They take the time to get to know each individual, and their preferences, in order to further develop goals and appropriate activities.

Bethany Harvest Hills Care – Calgary

Continuing Care Videos

Bethany Harvest Hills specializes in Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Bethany Harvest Hills was built on a model of ‘six small houses’ with residential-style kitchens, living rooms and private rooms with ensuite washrooms. Residents also have access to all common areas in the centre including a Village Square, hair salon, music and sun room and family dining room. This video focuses on how residents and families were supported during COVID-19 at the Bethany Harvest Hills care site in Calgary.

Our team was glad to help highlight the work of these facilities in these continuing care videos. It is wonderful to see the excellent care being provided to our elder citizens!
