MHF- Mental Health Awareness Video

Recently, Lindisfarne had the opportunity to create a mental health awareness video for the Mental Health Foundation‘s annual Breaking the Silence walk and run. We jumped at the chance to work with the fantastic team at the Mental Health Foundation once again.

Unfortunately, the statistics show that 1 in 5 individuals are impacted by mental illness. During the pandemic over half of Canadians surveyed reported worsened mental health. Organizations like the Mental Health Foundation and CASA provide essential support for those struggling with varying mental health issues.

Breaking the Silence walk and run is an annual community event that aims to encourage people to talk about mental health while promoting mental and physical wellness through walking, jogging, and running. Our Lindisfarne crew spoke to an organizer to learn about creating this event in honour of close friend Surjan Singh Sanghera. Surjan suffered with his mental health in silence before unfortunately taking his own life. Breaking the Silence aims to break down stigma and promot openness, empathy and support for mental health.

We also got the chance to speak to multiple participants in this year’s event, and to learn their special reasons for taking part. It was an honour for our crew to create this mental health awareness video and to be a part of the movement to help raise awareness of mental health in our community.
