Finding Warmth in A Cold City – Edmonton, Alberta Tourism Stock Footage

During the particularly frigid month of January this year, our video production team at Lindisfarne squeezed into our post-turkey long johns and hit the streets of Edmonton. Our mission: to gather a variety of vibrant shots of our Capital city for Alberta Tourism’s stock footage collection… but along the way we found so much more!

Our crew, in tow with some talented Edmonton models and actors, set the scene of an active Winter City. We went ice skating in front of City Hall, shopping on Jasper Avenue, dining at some of the city’s best restaurants, cafes, and bars, snowshoeing and segwaying in our much-loved river valley, and cross country skiing at the picturesque Muttart Conservatory. We even got up and personal with the extra talented ice carvers at the ‘Ice On Whyte Festival’.

In February, we braved the cold once again to join the festivities of ‘The Flying Canoe Adventure’ held in the Mill Creek ravine and at La Cité  Francophone. We were greeted with some dazzling light installations that had been arranged in the trees of the ravine, cheerful live music at La Cité Francophone, and last but not least, traditional toasted bannock over an open fire. Our noses may have been cold but our hearts and bellies were warm!

Our team had an amazing time experiencing  the sites and sounds of our wonderful winter city and getting to see it all through fresh eyes!
