Lindisfarne Productions was happy to once again to team up with the team at the Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts to sponsor and create the videos for their annual Here’s Nina award gala event! Each year, these award videos are aired during the award gala event to highlight the work of award recipients. We love coming to the Nina to see the fabulous work being created by their artists. The impact the Nina makes on it’s participants is inspirational.
This year we had the pleasure of profiling Nina Haggerty artists: Aaron Harvey, Aba Garbrah, Carl Philip, Carrie Reed, Roy Skoreyko. We also created a video for volunteer Guy Voisey.
Aaron Harvey – CN Artist of the Year Award Winner
Aaron has been coming to the Nina since 2011. He works with pencil crayons and watercolour. This is the first time Aaron has won an award and it means a lot to him. Aaron likes the people at the Nina and that they are proud of him.
Aba Garbrah – Edmonton ExPO Centre Artists’ Choice Award Winner
Aba has been coming to the Nina since 2011. She loves to paint, draw, and do ceramics. She is currently working on her autobiography. Aba thinks of the people at the Nina as family. Aba feels proud when she sees her art on the wall and is happy to receive the Artists’ Choice award.
Carl Philip – Realtors Community Foundation CREATE Award Winner
Carl has been coming to the Nina for 9 years, although he says it “feels like yesterday.” Carl enjoys oil painting – it relaxes him. When he sees his art on the wall it makes him happy. Carl has made many nice friends at the Nina and is very proud of the Nina.
Carrie Reed – CIBC Propel Award Winner
Carrie has been coming to the Nina since 2019. She loves making art, but also loves teasing the staff. She enjoys sculpting and working with her hands. Carrie is excited to receive the CIBC Propel Award.
Roy Skoreyko – Rotary Club of Edmonton NE CONNECT Award Winner
Roy has been involved with the Nina Haggerty as a board member since its inceptions. Roy believes all people with disabilities can be artists and need to be encouraged. Roy is proud to be an artist
Guy Voisey – Odvod Media Sustained Support Award Winner
Guy is a volunteer at the Nina. Coming to the Nina has been one of the best decisions he has made. He has met a lot of inspiring and courageous people at the Nina. Guy makes an effort to give encouragement and positive feedback, and be that welcoming committee to new people at the Nina.
