EPCOR – ESG Report Videos

The Lindisfarne crew was brought on to help EPCOR create report videos for their Environment, Sustainability, and Governance report.

Video topics to be covered for the ESG report included: the E.L. Smith Solar Farm (Environment); Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs); and the evolution of EPCOR’s long-term plan (Governance).

To adequately cover each topic, our team create 3 separate videos as well as several short clips to be used for social media.

Our team was excited to get to visit the newly opened E.L. Smith Solar Farm to capture some aerial drone footage and broll of the solar panels. EPCOR’s kīsikāw pīsim solar farm became operational in August 2022 and provides Edmonton’s largest water treatment plant with more than half the electricity it needs – producing clean water with clean energy. This unique project furthers EPCOR’s commitment to reach net zero GHG emissions, while deepening relationships with Indigenous communities. We spoke to EPCOR’s own Trina Manning, Dr. M. Anne Naeth – professor of Land Reclamation at the University of Alberta, and Enoch Cree First Nation representative Councillor Michelle Wilsdon. Because the land the Solar Farm sits on was once Enoch Cree Nation reserve land, it was important to hear from Councillor Wilsdon about EPCOR’s collaboration with the Indigenous community.

Our team was excited to speak to several EPCOR employees about the Employee Resource Groups being developed at EPCOR. Over the past several years, EPCOR employees have built a network of grassroots groups providing safe and nurturing spaces to connect. Not only are these groups driving increased belonging, but they are also helping to further our goal to be a workplace where everyone can be their full selves. We loved being able to hear from so many EPCOR employees about how EPCOR is fostering development, balance, and inclusion.

Finally, the EPCOR long-term plan is a guiding vision for EPCOR to make choices in moving their operations forward. We spoke to EPCOR leaders Jennifer Addison and Amanda Rosychuk about the evolution of that plan as the world continues to change. It was interesting for our team to hear the high-level plan for EPCOR to continue providing clean water and reliable energy. We love working with the team at EPCOR and seeing their vision come to life!
